Helen and Margaret Callaghan Helen Callaghan (d. 1992) played 5 seasons as a center-fielder for the All-American Girls’ Professional Baseball League from 1944 to 1949. Her sister Margaret Callaghan played infield for 8 seasons for the same league from 1944 to 1951. Their story was the inspiration behind the much acclaimed Hollywood film “A League of Their Own”.
